First day of pre-school

Kayle's first day of preschool was today (3 year old program at a local church)! When she woke up this morning I told her "you have school today" to which she became quite excited and as I was digging through her dresser she said she wanted to wear a monkey shirt! We went downstairs, I dressed her, she then ran to get her backpack and asked me to help her put it on. I put it on her then told her it was going to be a while before we left (it was 8 am and school didn't start until 9:30).

When we arrived at school she saw her friend Lindsey. Lindsey is 2 and therefore in a different class than Kayle. So as we were walking to Kayle's class she became hesitant about going because she wanted to be with Lindsey, but once she got into her classroom she was fine! When I went to pick her up, I asked her if she was ready to go and she replied "no"! She had a great first day! She was a little ornery at home that afternoon, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Oh and a little on the hyper side!

I almost forgot....when I put her in the car to go home she was asking for pizza! I was a little surprised by this because according to the schedule they eat lunch at 12:30, then have "rest" time and then have a snack after their rest time. Once we got home she started asking for a sandwich. So I opened up her lunch bag (it has a top and a bottom compartment), well the teachers didn't open the bottom compartment that held her sandwich! No wonder she was asking to eat! So her lunch at school consisted of a vegetable cup of sweet peas, a fruit cup of peaches, a small amount of cheetos and a fruit snack! I will be sure to let them know that I pack a sandwich and where it is located tomorrow!

And to end the night with a great Kayle quote! "Daddy, thats a big mountain on your plate!" Daddy was eating nachos!
